Consultancy Description 

The Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Coordinator Consultant will work closely with the Occupational Therapy Technical Specialist, specialists from the University of Michigan-Flint, and Occupational Therapy Fieldwork Coordinator Consultants from other partner universities to integrate the provisions of the Fieldwork Manual for Master’s Students in Occupational Therapy into the educational programs of the respective universities.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities

Detailed Responsibilities

The OT Fieldwork Coordinator Consultant shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:

1. Organization and delivery of fieldwork for occupational therapy students.

1.1 Adapt the Fieldwork Manual to the university’s local requirements.

1.2. Integrate the components of the Fieldwork Manual, including assessment forms, into the university’s fieldwork organization and implementation processes.

1.3. Organize at least two fieldwork placements in accordance with the provisions of the Fieldwork Manual.

1.4. Collaborate with fieldwork sites, students, and fieldwork supervisors in organizing and delivering fieldwork in accordance with the Fieldwork Manual.

1.5. Analyze at least two completed fieldwork placements and prepare a report presenting the results of the analysis.

1.6. If needed, revise the university’s Regulations on the Organization of Fieldwork for Occupational Therapy Students.

1.7. Facilitate the approval of the university’s Regulations on the Organization of Fieldwork for Occupational Therapy Students

1.8. Under the mentorship of University of Michigan-Flint specialists and in collaboration with consultants from other universities, develop a training program for fieldwork coordinators and supervisors.

1.9. Deliver a training for fieldwork coordinators and supervisors jointly with University of Michigan-Flint specialists.

1.10. Participate in agreed-upon meetings with University of Michigan-Flint specialists and project technical specialists.

1.11. Submit timely monthly reports on completed work.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Therapy and Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, Physical Rehabilitation)
  • Experience performing the duties of a Practice Coordinator within a Master’s program specializing in Occupational Therapy at a higher education institution
  • Experience in teaching and/or supervising clinical practice for Occupational Therapy students
  • Knowledge of the provisions of the National Higher Education Standard for the Occupational Therapy specialization and the Occupational Therapist Professional Standard
