The Embassy of Switzerland in Kyiv is looking for a

Logistics Officer

Full time, starting as soon as possible

Job Objective:

The Logistics Officer is part of the Operation Team of the Embassy and is responsible for

ensuring the safe, reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of the technical

infrastructure and facilities of the Embassy of Switzerland in Kyiv, including the chancery,

official residence, and other assigned properties.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• The Logistics Officer independently manages day-to-day technical operations,

carries out preventive maintenance, diagnoses and resolves technical problems,

and coordinates specialised external service providers.

• A key responsibility is to ensure the operational resilience of the Embassy’s critical

infrastructure, particularly in the event of power outages, utility disruptions, or other

emergency situations.

• The Officer also contributes to facilities management, technical procurement,

logistical arrangements, security-related technical systems, and the successful

implementation of maintenance and infrastructure improvement projects.

Specific tasks

• Technical Infrastructure and Energy Systems Management

o Ensure the reliable operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of

the Embassy’s technical infrastructure, including electrical installations, backup

power systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and water supply.

o Ensure operational continuity during power outages, utility disruptions, and

emergency situations.

o Identify technical risks and propose measures to improve the reliability,

efficiency, and resilience of critical infrastructure.

• Facilities and Property Management

o Oversee the maintenance and technical condition of the Embassy premises,

official residence, and other assigned properties.

o Conduct regular inspections, carry out minor repairs, and coordinate

maintenance and repair activities with external service providers.

o Support the planning and implementation of maintenance, renovation, and

infrastructure improvement projects.

• Technical Procurement, Logistics and Operational Support

o Coordinate technical procurement, including the identification of suppliers,

preparation of technical specifications, and supervision of contractors.

o Maintain inventories, technical documentation, maintenance records, and

reports.

o Provide technical and logistical support for Embassy operations, official events,

security systems, and emergency preparedness.

Requirements:

• University degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Energy Engineering, Building Services

Engineering, or a closely related technical field. A recognised advanced technical or

vocational qualification combined with substantial relevant professional experience

may also be considered.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the operation, maintenance,

and troubleshooting of complex technical infrastructure, preferably in the energy sector,

industrial facilities, utilities, or large building complexes.

• Experience in managing technical maintenance projects, coordinating contractors, and

supervising external service providers.

• High qualification, expertise and experience in electrical installations, energy supply,

backup power generation, heating, water systems, and building infrastructure.

• Knowledge of technical safety standards, electrical safety requirements, and applicable

Ukrainian regulations.

• Good knowledge of standard computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, and

the ability to work with technical documentation, maintenance records, and digital

monitoring systems.

• Fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian.
• Good working knowledge of English, sufficient to understand technical documentation,

communicate with international colleagues, and prepare basic written reports.
